In its first season in 2019, Creepshow smashed records for Shudder in number of viewers, new subscriber sign-ups and total minutes streamed to become the most watched program in Shudder history, followed by a successful run on AMC.

The successful first season was followed by two specials in 2020, October’s A Creepshow Animated Special featuring the voices of Kiefer Sutherland (24) and Joey King (The Kissing Booth) and December’s A Creepshow Holiday Special starring Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect) and Adam Pally (The Mindy Project).

In February 2021, the new trailer for Creepshow season 2 was finally released, giving fans a sneak peek of what to expect. Shudder announced that starting April 1, fans will be able to stream new episodes each week on the platform.

The new trailer gives horror fans some frightening teases of the upcoming episodes. Shapeshifters Anonymous Parts 1 and 2 is written by Greg Nicotero and based on a short story by J.A. Konrath about an unlucky soul who finds himself in need of a werewolf support group. Keith David, Ashley Laurence and Josh McDermitt star in Pesticide, which was written by Frank Dietz. The story revolves around an exterminator who makes an infernal bargain. Model Kid is written by returning Creepshow writer John Esposito and it is about a 12-year-old monster fan who turns to hand-built model kits to escape his unhappy reality. We have yet to see the story details for the remaining episodes.

Production on season 2 was supposed to kick off in March of 2020, but it was forced to shut down, due to the public health crisis. Filming began in September 2020, as the cast and crew followed strict health and safety protocols. Along with the filming announcement, Shudder and Greg Nicotero revealed the new cast.

Ali Larter (The Rookie), Iman Benson (BlackAF), Ryan Kwanten (True Blood), Barabra Crampton (Re-Animator), C. Thomas Howell (Criminal Minds), Denise Crosby (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Breckin Meyer (Robot Chicken), Ted Raimi (The Evil Dead), Kevin Dillon (Entourage), and Eric Edelstein (We Bare Bears) will be joining the cast.

Season 1’s Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect), Keith David (They Live), Josh McDermitt (The Walking Dead), Adam Pally (The Mindy Project), and Ashley Laurence (Hellraiser) will all be back on board, as well. Shock rocker Marilyn Manson was initially signed to join the lineup, but was cut due to abuse allegations surrounding him.

Ahead of the second season’s premiere, we’ve learned that Shudder has already renewed their horror anthology series Creepshow for an upcoming third season.

Greg Nicotero said in a statement, “During our season two production, Shudder was so pleased with what they were seeing that they asked us to roll right into production on a brand-new third season that will feature some of our most ambitious stories yet.”
